Greetings First Methodist Friends!
I hope that this message finds each one of you doing well during this unusual time. I also hope that you have been able to participate via the internet the SFUMC services since social distancing guidelines have been in place. Our staff has really stepped up and made all of us proud!
Janice Smith, Lay Leader here at SFUMC, announced during the broadcast today that we are organizing a task force that will be making plans for us to return to in person worship, following public health guidelines, on July 5, 2020.
Why July 5 and not sooner? Primarily, it is to comply with our Bishop’s recommendations and to help us through our pastoral transition. We want to be comfortable that we will, in the words of John Wesley, “do no harm” to those who worship with us.
Our congregation is diverse in many ways and we realize that we will not be able to make everyone comfortable returning at this time. To help us in making decisions, please use the button below to complete a short survey and provide us with thoughts or concerns that you may have by Sunday, May 31, 2020.
We also want you to know that plans are being finalized now to wish Jimmy and Susan farewell. Those plans will be shared as soon as possible.
Thank you in advance for your input and may God bless our efforts as we move forward!
Jim Campbell
Church Council Chair
